Hi, I’m Dr. Anna Johnston, and I’m thrilled to offer my veterinary services to families and pet owners just like you. I am originally from Charlotte, NC but much of my family is from this region of Southwest Virginia. I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Emory & Henry College in 2014 and then my Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Lincoln Memorial University in 2019. I've spent the last 4 years practicing in Abingdon and have come to love so many of the animals and people of this area. I hope to add to the wonderful existing veterinary community and help make compassionate care accessible to as many people as possible.
Since graduating, I’ve had the privilege of working with all kinds of animals—from small pets like dogs and cats to larger animals such as horses and livestock. As a mobile veterinarian, I look forward to bringing my expertise and compassionate care directly to your doorstep, making it easier and more convenient for you to get the care your animals need without the stress of traveling to a clinic.
I’ve always had a deep love for animals, and that passion is matched only by my commitment to serving my community. I understand how important pets and animals are to your family, which is why I treat each one with the same love and care I give to my own. As a mother of two sons and a proud wife, I value family above all else, and I bring that same family-centered approach to my veterinary practice. In addition to my 2 human children, I also have several furry, scaled, and aquatic children that I enjoy caring for. I love spending time with my family, especially if it involves anything outdoors.
I'm excited to meet you and your pets!
Hello! My name is Natalie! I am the vet assistant for Dr. Anna. I love animals with everything in me and I hope to help your fur babies to the best of my abilities! I am originally from Cleveland, OH. I moved to the Bristol area when I was 12 and went on to graduate from Tennessee High School in 2020. From there I went onto trying out different types of schooling, but nothing seemed to stick. I was considering my options when I was met with the opportunity to work with Dr. Anna. Animals have always been a passion of mine, and it all felt like it fell into place perfectly.
Growing up, I have always had animals in my home. My first official pet was a guinea pig named Tulip. She went on to have 2 separate litters of babies. Raising the babies with her was such an amazing thing to experience. From there, on my 13th birthday, I was gifted my first dog, Pearl. I rescued her from the Washington County Animal Shelter when she was 3 years old. She has been such a blessing in my life, and I wouldn’t trade her for the world. After having her for 6 years, I decided she needed a friend and that is how I got Toby. Toby and Pearl are my entire world. They have shown me the purest form of love.
Animals have always been a safe place for me. I know how much pets can shape your world. My goal is to help keep your fur babies happy and healthy. Thank you for trusting Dr. Anna and I with your pets! I look forward to meeting them and treating them with the same love and compassion I give to my own.
